The ladies of Portumna Golf Club (Connaught) snatched a victory from The K Club (Leinster) down the19th hole in two matches. In addition, the third-place playoff resulted in a win for East Cork Golf Club (Munster) over Enniskillen Golf Club (Ulster) . A very high standard of golf and sportsmanship was on display in beautiful weather over the two days from all four teams. The two semi finals were won on the eighteenth and the nineteenth holes of the fifth match. The finale of the event was a gala dinner where Woodenbridge Golf Club hosted all four teams, The four teams had a fabulous time making new friends and celebrated their victories in great style.

On a glorious day in Woodenbridge, setting the scene for some really hard fought matches, The K Club emerged victorious on the 18th green in the fifth match beating Enniskillen 3 and two.

The opening ceremony of the Mary McKenna Diamond Trophy took place in beautiful sunshine this evening. The President Patricia McDonnell welcomed the four provincial winners to Woodenbridge G.C. Our local Piper heralded all four teams across the bridge where the team captains introduced their team members. Lady Captain Deirdre Phelan held the draw with the help of Captain Shane Byrne. Tomorrow at 10am the first semi-final is Enniskillen and the K Club and at 11 am the 2nd semi final is East Cork versus Portumna. We wish all teams the very best of luck and good golf.
